Fatemeh Zamyar
I am an Iranian journalist and independent documentary filmmaker with six years of experience working with some of Iran’s leading media outlets, including Farhikhtegan, Sobhe No, Haft-e Sobh, Tejarat News, Ham-Mihan, and Avash.
As a journalist, I have worked in cultural, social, and economic journalism, with a particular focus on startups, technology, and emerging trends in Iran’s digital economy. This work has given me the opportunity to engage closely with a wide range of contemporary issues and to develop a firsthand understanding of Iran’s media landscape and society.
Alongside journalism, I work as an independent documentary filmmaker, focusing on social and human-centered stories and exploring contemporary realities through documentary storytelling.
For the past year, I have also been teaching Persian at the Ferdowsi School to international learners, primarily at intermediate and upper-intermediate levels. My teaching combines contemporary literary and spoken Persian with practical conversation, focusing on helping learners understand and use Persian as it is spoken and written in Iran today.
